Effective Home Remedies for Dandruff

At least once in a lifetime, three out of six people have witnessed dandruff. Dandruff has more to do with the scalp than with hair. Your hair's health and bounce show the underlying scalp situation, and those nasty flakes are still noticeable to people around you no matter how much you cover.

  1. Vinegar from Apple Cider for Dandruff Purpose 
    Apple Cider Vinegar by restoring the pH balance of the scalp Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) inhibits the growth of yeast. It also works as a natural hair cleanser and helps unclog pores and hair follicles. Method: Mix two cups of Apple Cider Vinegar with three cups of cold water and use this mixture to rinse your hair, post shampooing. Let it sit for two minutes before washing it off. For best results, use this once a week.
  2. Lemon and Coconut Oil for Dandruff Purpose 
    Lemon juice works wonders for dandruff! Coconut Oil, known for its anti-fungal properties, moisturises a dry scalp and fights itchiness like a pro. Plus, it nourishes your hair and improves hair growth. Should we say more? Method: Mix equal parts of coconut oil and lemon juice for a potent anti-dandruff remedy and rub it on your scalp.
  3. Tea Tree Oil for Dandruff Purpose 
    Tea Tree Oil, due to its potent cleaning and anti-fungal properties, has long been used to treat dandruff. A classic cure for anti-dandruff, if we can say so. Method: To get rid of dandruff, apply six drops of Tea Tree Oil to half a cup of essential oil (such as lavender) and rub your scalp.
  4. Vinegar and Olive Oil for Dandruff Purpose 
    Olive oil for dandruff is a natural conditioner and minimise oxidative damage owing to its anti-oxidant properties. Without weighing it down, this lightweight oil is effective on hair. The vinegar's acetic properties combat fungal infections and enhance blood circulation. Method: In a bowl of water, mix 1 tsp of Olive Oil and 2 tsp of White Vinegar. Apply this mixture on separate sections of your hair and massage the scalp for five minutes. Wash it off with a sulfate-free anti-dandruff shampoo and apply a conditioner.
  5. Yogurt for Dandruff Purpose 
    The lactic acid in yoghurt helps to greatly minimise dandruff. The antibacterial properties of this dandruff remedy would guarantee that hair from its roots is strengthened by the protein in it. Method: Clean your hair with lukewarm water and dry it with a towel to get rid of the water that drips. To the scalp and hair, add a generous layer of fresh yoghurt. For 10 minutes, keep it on.
